			<h2>SENSYS R4 Magnetometer</h2>
<p>With a breathtaking backdrop, Portland Harbour (an ex-Royal Navy port) delivers the perfect location to demonstrate the capabilities of the UgCS True Terrain Following (TTF) system and to fine-tune its performance in the most challenging environment – over the sea!</p>
<p><span id="more-74365"></span></p>
<p>Utilising an M300 RTK coupled to a <a href="https://sensysmagnetometer.com/">SENSYS R4</a> over a period of no less than three whole days, we slowly but surely uncovered the optimal settings and configuration for a flight over the sea at 1 m and less ASL. These flights are not for the faint-hearted, especially when the drone lowers itself from over 20 m to 1 m in one smooth but unrelenting motion.</p>
<p><img fetchpriority="high" decoding="async" class="wp-image-77221 size-medium" src="https://jbuas.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/SENSYS-R4-on-beach-750x422-1-300x169.webp" alt="SENSYS R4 on beach" width="300" height="169" srcset="https://jbuas.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/SENSYS-R4-on-beach-750x422-1-300x169.webp 300w, https://jbuas.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/SENSYS-R4-on-beach-750x422-1-600x338.webp 600w, https://jbuas.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/SENSYS-R4-on-beach-750x422-1.webp 750w" sizes="(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px" /></p>
<h2>SENSYS R4 Magnetometer &amp; Processing Software</h2>
<p>As we were flying the TTF system, we also collected magnetic data for processing post-trial flights. Using the SENSYS R4 data processing flow, rapid analysis was possible after each flight, including the exact positioning of any anomalies.</p>
<h3>Drone Magnetometer Applications</h3>
<ul>
<li>Archaeology (buried walls and pits, amongst other uses)</li>
<li>Pipeline route detection (gas and water pipelines)</li>
<li>HV Cable route detection</li>
<li>UXO clearance</li>
<li>Mineral Investigations</li>
</ul>
<h3>Equipment Used on Trial</h3>
<ul>
<li>M300 RTK UAV (with RTK Correction)</li>
<li>SENSYS R4 UAV Magnetometer</li>
<li>UgCS Automated Mission Software</li>
<li>UgCS SkyHub with TTF Capability</li>
<li>SENSYS Magneto Processing Software</li>
</ul>
<h2>Conclusion</h2>
<p>JBUAS has now fine-tuned the TTF to a standard we will roll out to all our customers. We have demonstrated over three whole days that the TTF system is more than capable of working over the sea with normal wind conditions while carrying the 2 m pole of the R4.</p>

<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-73094" src="https://jbuas.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/Picture3-1-300x300.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="300" srcset="https://jbuas.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/Picture3-1-300x300.jpg 300w, https://jbuas.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/Picture3-1-400x400.jpg 400w, https://jbuas.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/Picture3-1-100x100.jpg 100w, https://jbuas.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/Picture3-1-600x600.jpg 600w, https://jbuas.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/Picture3-1-150x150.jpg 150w, https://jbuas.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/Picture3-1-120x120.jpg 120w, https://jbuas.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/Picture3-1.jpg 652w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px" /></p>
<h3>Drone Compatability</h3>
<p>The newest cameras to the family – the <a href="https://jbuas.co.uk/uav-drone-thermal-cameras-drone-optical-gas-imaging-ogi/">WIRIS Enterprise</a>, the <a href="https://jbuas.co.uk/uav-drone-thermal-cameras-drone-optical-gas-imaging-ogi/">WIRIS Pro</a>, the <a href="https://jbuas.co.uk/uav-drone-thermal-cameras-drone-optical-gas-imaging-ogi/">WIRIS Pro Science</a>, and the <a href="https://jbuas.co.uk/uav-drone-thermal-cameras-drone-optical-gas-imaging-ogi/">WIRIS Agro </a>R – are compatible with all UAVs. With the addition of the <a href="https://jbuas.co.uk/uav-drone-thermal-cameras-drone-optical-gas-imaging-ogi/">Gremsy gimble and Gremsy G-Port connection</a>, attachment to the M300RTK is quick and effortless.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone wp-image-73261 size-medium" title="Thermal Imaging Cameras" src="https://jbuas.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/uav_thermal_camera-1-300x300.jpg" alt="Thermal Imaging Cameras" width="300" height="300" srcset="https://jbuas.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/uav_thermal_camera-1-300x300.jpg 300w, https://jbuas.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/uav_thermal_camera-1-100x100.jpg 100w, https://jbuas.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/uav_thermal_camera-1-150x150.jpg 150w, https://jbuas.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/uav_thermal_camera-1-120x120.jpg 120w, https://jbuas.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/uav_thermal_camera-1.jpg 398w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px" /></p>
<h3>WIRIS OS – Onboard Operating System</h3>
<p>Particularly advantageous for inspection purposes are the cameras’ on-board operating systems (<a href="https://jbuas.co.uk/uav-drone-thermal-cameras-drone-optical-gas-imaging-ogi/">WIRIS OS</a>). This means operators can change many settings while the drone is in flight. For example, users can adapt the thermal imagery to changing weather conditions. Furthermore, operators can change the colour palette or even change the temperature range.</p>
<h3>Fully Radiometric Video</h3>
<p>Workwell cameras record fully radiometric videos. Every pixel of every video frame contains data, giving users accurate temperature readings for every area of the asset or land surveyed. Workswell calibrates the cameras in the laboratory, before delivery, to ensure they are the most accurate in the market.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Jonathan Brindley, JBUAS Sensor Solutions Manager, said, “<em>Workswell cameras are a great addition to our drone inspection solutions. Adding a thermal element means users can accurately detect leaks or breakages that are not visible to other cameras. We will be supplying these top-of-the-range cameras separately or as part of a complete drone inspection package</em>.”</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>At the heart of the Workswell camera is a core from world-leading camera maker <a href="https://www.flir.co.uk/?utm_source=google&amp;utm_medium=cpc&amp;utm_campaign=emea.uk.solutions.crsseg.t.iw.om.brand.search&amp;gclid=Cj0KCQjwof6WBhD4ARIsAOi65aiCNG60ht_Usz4bTO2_GUyKbegTXy2GBCf3D21ihKCCkQ5LmDc48NQaAgcMEALw_wcB">Teledyne Flir.</a> Onto this, Workswell (which is based in Prague, Czech Republic) builds the required functionality to transform it into a UAV thermal imaging system. Workswell also offers a balancing service for the gimble and camera (and G-Port where required for M300RTK).</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone wp-image-73259 size-medium" title="Thermal Imaging Cameras" src="https://jbuas.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/M300RTK-Thermal-Picture-300x202.jpg" alt="Thermal Imaging Cameras" width="300" height="202" srcset="https://jbuas.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/M300RTK-Thermal-Picture-300x202.jpg 300w, https://jbuas.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/M300RTK-Thermal-Picture-600x404.jpg 600w, https://jbuas.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/M300RTK-Thermal-Picture.jpg 669w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px" /></p>
