EchoNIMBUS Sidescan Sonar
High-Resolution Underwater Imaging for UAV-Based Survey Operations
The EchoNIMBUS Sidescan Sonar System is a compact and lightweight hydrographic solution designed for high-resolution underwater imaging, object detection, and seabed inspection. Fully integrated with the SPH Engineering UgCS SkyHub ecosystem, the system enables drone operators to capture detailed acoustic imagery in inland, coastal, and nearshore environments.
Unlike single-beam echosounders, the EchoNIMBUS uses sidescan sonar technology to generate wide swath images of the seafloor, allowing for efficient detection of submerged objects, debris, and underwater structures. This makes it ideal for search and recovery, infrastructure inspection, environmental monitoring, and survey reconnaissance.
With real-time data acquisition and synchronised GNSS positioning, the system produces accurately georeferenced sonar imagery for efficient analysis and reporting. Its lightweight design makes it well suited for UAV deployment, providing a safer and more flexible alternative to traditional boat-based survey methods.
Optimised for integration with DJI M400, M300 RTK and M350 RTK platforms, the EchoNIMBUS enables rapidly deployable survey operations in shallow, hazardous, or difficult-to-access environments.
