SkyHub TTF Core Integration

SkyHub TTF Core Integration

  • A hardware and software set integrated together
  • A system that enables all payloads to be flown safely yet very low to the ground
  • The basic system concept remains the same for DJI M300 RTK, M350 RTK, M400 UAV, and other compatible drones

SkyHub TTF Core Integration (The Core System)

Note: Users can purchase a SkyHub TTF Integration before the sensor payload.

The SkyHub TTF Core Integration is a hardware and software kit designed to enable a drone to carry a geophysical sensor payload extremely low to the ground. It is designed with the SkyHub onboard computer that manages the True Terrain Following capability. This low-flying kit is what we call ‘The Core System’.

The Core System comprises:

  • SDK Cable
  • SkyHub Onboard Computer
  • True Terrain Altimeter
  • SkyHub Software Support Pack*
  • True Terrain Following (TTF) License
  • UgCS Flight Planning Tool
  • Custom Payload Monitor (CPM)
  • Controller Companion App

With this core system fully functional, the user can fly their M300 RTK, M350 RTK, M400 or other supported UAV drone very low to the ground in an automated survey pattern irrespective of whether they have purchased a sensor and sensor licence. This opens up the possibility of attaching third-party geophysical payloads. To learn more about the above core system components, see the Features Tab (above).

SkyHub TTF Support Packs*

SPH Engineering launched the SkyHub Support scheme in 2025. This scheme means that users are required to purchase an annual SkyHub support pack starting from year two. This effectively means that when a user buys a SkyHub integrated sensor system, the SkyHub support for the first year is included.

If you have owned a SkyHub for more than 1 year, you will be required to purchase a support pack to continue to receive:

• Personalised Assistance: Email, phone, or video conferencing support during business hours
• Minimised Downtime: Fast resolutions to technical challenges
• Continuous Expertise: Access to our knowledgeable team for your specific needs

ATTENTION: SPH Engineering are no longer processing support enquiries for SkyHub systems without an active support pack. JBUAS, however, continues to provide basic troubleshooting to customers – this excludes firmware licence updates that require direct SPH involvement.

Sensor Licences (not included in a Core System standard supply)

When users purchase a sensor (magnetometer, GPR, sonar, etc.) to accompany their core system, they will be supplied with the sensor and licence as one package. If the sensor is bought further to the core system, the user’s initial licence will be updated to reflect their sensor being used with their core system. As new additional sensors are purchased, licences are updated.

SkyHub TTF Core Integration

UgCS Expert / Enterprise

The UgCS flight planning software is considered the market leader for a reason. It has proven easy to use even with beginners and is mastered in under an hour. Despite this, the power of the application is unquestionable with key tools within the software that make planning and costing surveys effortless. Using UgCS to plan sensor survey flights is just common sense, and given it is part of the SPH Engineering family of products, integration with the CPM has been robust and meticulous.

Custom Payload Monitor (CPM)

CPM manages what sensor will be flown and its settings and configuration in an easy-to-use interface. As explained previously, it seamlessly integrates with UgCS, and this makes flying sensors simple. With a simple flying interface and live feeds for flown sensors, including the TTF radar, the pilot is kept in view of important flight parameters.

OSDK (M300 RTK/M350 RTK)/PSDK (M400) Cable Assembly

Core systems come with a cable assembly that connects the drone to the SkyHub for both power and data. There is a connection delivering power to SkyHub from the drone and a two-way connection for data. The cable assembly also features three LEDs that provide indications of the state of the system readiness on first boot-up and whilst in operation.

SkyHub – Onboard Computer

The SkyHub is easily connected to any compatible drone for communications and power in seconds. With 3D-printed clips (see the UgCS Parts Library), mechanical fixing is quick and simple to perform. It provides options for sensor power and data using reliable and robust connectors, making them ideal for airborne applications. It provides safety features for both input and output power and provides fully isolated and ESD-protected external interfaces.

  • 64GB of onboard memory
  • Operating range: -25°C to +85°C
  • Selectable Power Sensor Output (9/12/15/18 V)
  • WiFi & Bluetooth enabled
  • Compact Size
  • Lightweight (195 g)

The SkyHub 3 has endless connectivity for sensors: 3 x UART & GPIO, 1 x UART & RS-232, 1 x RS-232 & GPIO, and 2 x USB. Communication is also possible using Ethernet and both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth methods.

USD 1 TTF Altimeter

To enable the drone to fly very low with your sensor, the core system utilises a high frequency radar system. This system boasts a range between 0.5 m and 50 m. This enables most applications to be flown including methane detection which utilises TDLAS systems that prefer more than 30m flying altitude. The USD1 is also very effective over water and has proven performance over intertidal areas.
