Medusa Radiometrics MS-700

Professional Drone-Borne Gamma-Ray Spectrometer for Large-Area Radiation Mapping

The Medusa Radiometrics MS-700 is an advanced gamma-ray spectrometer specifically engineered for UAV-based radiation surveys and high-efficiency geophysical mapping. Designed to maximise sensitivity whilst remaining suitable for commercial drone operations, the MS-700 provides an excellent balance between detector performance and payload weight.

Featuring a large 700 ml (3″ × 6″) caesium iodide scintillation crystal, the MS-700 delivers significantly greater detection sensitivity than smaller spectrometers, enabling faster survey speeds and improved data quality. The system is ideally suited for mineral exploration, soil mapping, contamination assessment, environmental monitoring, and radiation safety applications.

With a total payload weight of just 4.7 kg, the MS-700 is optimised for deployment on professional mid-lift UAV platforms, including the DJI M400. When integrated with SkyHub systems supplied by JBUAS, operators benefit from precise RTK positioning, automated flight planning, and streamlined data acquisition workflows.

The MS-700 incorporates Medusa’s Detector Operating System (mDOS), providing real-time radionuclide analysis, survey monitoring, and onboard data processing. Post-flight analysis is completed using GammAn software, enabling detailed interpretation of radiometric datasets and generation of professional survey deliverables.
